No kidding! I grew up in Northern CA but moved to Southern CA in the early 70's. I remember the smog was so bad you never saw a blue sky. Then cars were required to use catalytic converters and we were soon required to have them smog checked every few years. We grumbled but wasn't that big a deal, and it was worth it because the air cleaned up fairly quickly. I don't think kids today even know what the word smog means.
So yes, we all want clean air and clean water, and we don't mind making the small adjustments necessary to make that happen. What AOC et al doesn't understand is panic leading to great big upheavals are not necessary to fix problems as they arise.
Yes indeed, we ought to be celebrated.
