I worked for an investment counseling firm in Atlanta, Georgia during the mid 70's. We were about to lose management of a a very large auto pension fund because the firm was not racially diverse. The company hired a one half American Indian and that satisfied the client. This is exactly what Warren was up to back in the days she was applying to colleges. She wanted and probably got "perks" or acceptance where she might not have otherwise.
